Supreme 2012
Luanne is the first of Canada's Supreme Members to be a Majority Rainbow Girl. She was a Charter member of Westmorland Assembly #23 in Moncton, New Brunswick. In 1980, she was a member of the first group from Westmorland to receive her Grand Cross, and in 1981, served as its sixth Worthy Advisor. Luanne served as Grand Worthy Advisor in 1984-85. When she moved to Ottawa in 1990, she became involved with Ottawa Assembly #3, serving on its Advisory Board from 1992 to 1995. She was Mother Advisor of the Assembly in 1993. Luanne was invited to join the Senior Grand Executive Committee in 1995 and became Chairperson of that Committee in 1998. From 2000 to 2002 Luanne served as the only international member of the Rainbow Renewal Task Force, a group of 15 women charged with beginning the work of renewing Rainbow. On July 1, 2002, upon the retirement of Mum Little, Mum Luanne became Supreme Deputy.

In order to pay the bills, Mum Luanne works as General Counsel in the Constitutional and Administrative Law Section in the Canadian Department of Justice. In order to prepare for her current role as one of the most senior constitutional lawyers in the Canadian government, she received her Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University in 1990 and Masters of Laws (Constitutional) from York University in 2004. In her work capacity, she advises on the constitutionality of new legislative initiatives, assists in litigation in which federal legislation is challenged on constitutional grounds, advises on the impact and effect of proposed constitutional amendments and provides legal support to the government in preparing major announcements like the Speech from the Throne (similar to the US State of the Union Address).

In her spare time Mum Luanne is a devoted godmother and friend to four wonderful children, and enjoys needlework, quilting and sewing of all kinds.
